We group together a number of
issues relating to a companies computers and computer
networks as Network Security. Threats to security can
come from outside the business or from inside and Rhema
Information Services is in a position to help prevent
and correct both types.
Internal:
In
most cases malicious activity can cause the greatest financial
damage but is the least often occurring internal threat.
Malicious activity, such as intentionally loading a virus
or attempting to destroy company data or steal copies
of company information can be limited through the use
of restrictive authority settings for most employees and
monitoring suspicious activities in server logs. Rhema
Information Services can also set alarms on server
log files to notify our technicians of suspicious behavior.
Following notification Rhema Information
Services can remotely lock the suspected computer
and notify company management to determine who is at the
computer in question as well as the purpose of the behavior.
Most security issues are the result of unintentional
employee activity. These are best combated with clearly
defined company policies regarding internet activity.
